The First Meeting with Baikal

Upon arrival in Irkutsk, you will meet your guide and get to know the group members. We're going to Listvyanka - a village situated on the shores of Lake Baikal at the source of the Angara River. It is in this village you will first meet Baikal. On the way, visit the Taltsy ethnographic museum, which represents the life of Siberian villages of the 18th-19th centuries. The museum has become a place for the preservation of monuments of folk culture. During the excursion, you seem to be transported to another era. You can take part in the Russian winter fun - sledding on cow skin from hills.

Dog Sledding in the Taiga

But motorized equipment does not always provide an opportunity to listen to the sounds of nature, and not everyone is ready for a long ski and hiking trip across Lake Baikal. But there is a way to travel on Lake Baikal, which allows not only to quickly overcome considerable distances but at the same time to feel complete harmony with Siberian nature and hear the winter silence of the Baikal expanses. Riding a dog sled and a modern snowmobile will allow you to touch the nature of winter Baikal and hear its heartbeat!

Trekking on Baikal Ice
Trekking Listvyanka - Bolshie Koty (6 hours)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and send things by car to the village of Bolshie Koty. With a take only what you need: a camera phone and a lunch box. For your convenience, each tour participant is provided with an individual sled. After packing we go out onto the transparent ice of Lake Baikal and go along one of the most beautiful coasts of Lake Baikal. On the way, you will see snow-covered hills and ice-covered rocks. We will have a hot picnic lunch in the open frosty air amidst dizzying scenery. At the end of the day, a hot Russian bath awaits us!

A Day in the Village of Baikal
Excursion to the cliff Skipper and Baikal village
Skriper - isolated steep cliffs made of cemented Jurassic conglomerates, which are a small stone ridge 60-80 m high. It separates the Bolshie and Malye Koty trench. Almost on the sheer part of the cliff, you can see the entrance to the cave, in which traces of the Neolithic camp of people were found. The history of the village itself is closely connected with the history of Lake Baikal. Gold-bearing sands were mined here, a glass factory worked. The attractiveness of the village lies precisely in its isolation - you can get here only through the taiga or by water. Despite the sufficient proximity to the city, it still retains the charm of the village of Baikal fishermen. You will climb to the observation deck for a breathtaking view. if it is sunny, you can see the eastern shore of the lake.

We say goodbye to the hospitable hosts and board the khivus (hovercraft). Today we will cross Baikal - you can take thousands of photos of Baikal ice! On a modern khivus we get to the village of Vydrino. Vydrino is a small village located in the picturesque valley of the Snezhnaya River at the foot of the majestic Khamar-Daban ridge. After accommodation in a hospitable guest house, we go on an excursion to the warm lakes.
